Objectives

• Provide technical guidance to public limited companies (PLCs) on data collection methodologies and approaches to facilitate the disclosure of more robust and comparable/ standardised indicators (i.e. broadly in line with international best practices such as the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol methodology)
• Identify practical steps in measuring and managing GHG emissions (Scopes 1, 2 & 3)

Agenda

• Introduction – brief on the context of GHG and its relevance and importance to businesses and the environment
• Highlight GHG emissions expectations from global initiatives such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), United Nations Principles for Responsible Banking (UNPRB), United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEPFI) and World Economic Forum (WEF)
• Identify potential risks and opportunities across the value chain and linking it to business goals
• Provide sample case studies from global companies and industry leaders
• Take participants through a sample of the GHG Accounting Manual
• Share the process of collecting GHG-related information (i.e. Scope 1,2 and 3)
• Provide guidance on how to input sample source data into the data collection template
